“Put on the Whole Armor of God, which you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world and spiritual wickedness in high places”
There is only one fight that we have been called to fight and that is ‘the good fight of faith’ and the rest is wrestling and wars. Wrestling involve contestation that is to compete and strive for, while wars include battles and victories. Lust is a carnal battle that brings us into Old Testament darkness; it negates the grace of God. Lust sees the obtaining of things through extreme hardship, contest, contention and subtly, while faith advocates patience and dependency. Strife is a killer for “How can two walk together unless they can willingly agree”? It takes away trust and the synergy of collective togetherness and the cooperative working together of all common parts. It robs the household of its strength and disarms the householder allowing someone stronger to bind them and spoil their goods. Therefore, it is difficult for anyone to administrate through these murky waters because where strife is, ‘there is every evil work’.
